Alfred B. Bonds

The Bonds family moved to Teaneck from Jersey City in the 1930s. His parents were New York natives. Edgar Bonds worked for the phone company.  Alfred graduated from THS in 1943 and played on the bowling and baseball teams. The family lived at 383 Maitland Avenue.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and became a PFC with the 95th Division, 379 Infantry Regiment.  Bonds was killed in the fighting for the fortress city of Metz, France on November 8, 1944.  He is buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial.
