Leonard Mulligan
Leonard Mulligan was born in Jersey City, NJ to Catherine and Luke Mulligan on 12/17/1921. He had an older sister, Eileen and an older brother, John. The family lived in Union City, Palisades Park and Teaneck.
Leonard graduated from Teaneck High School (Class of 1939). He was described in his High School Yearbook as being obliging, friendly and reserved. His interests included people, sports, traveling and listening to orchestras. Leonard was a member of the Teaneck High School Astronomy Club, Fishing Club and Bowling Club.
Leonard was commissioned as a bombardier and Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Force in early October 1943.
On 3/8/44 Lieutenant Mulligan was a crewmember on a B-24 bomber flying out of an airfield in Harvard, Nebraska. The bomber collided in midair with another B-24 bomber, 8 miles east of Hancock, Iowa, killing six aboard including Lieutenant Mulligan.
This brave Air Force Officer is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.

- Leonard Mulligan - 2nd Lieutenant Mulligan was a crewmember on U.S. Army Air Corps B-24H Liberator #41-28826. While on a flight out of the Army airfield at Harvard, Nebraska, the bomber collided mid air with B-24H #42-94731 and crashed eight miles east of Hancock, Iowa, Six aboard were killed.
