A Pictorial Scrapbook of Teaneck - 1895-1946

This picture of early Teaneck was taken on a farm on River Road, near where Route Four crosses in 1906 by T. E. Longfield of Cresskill. Mr. Longfield was driving by in his buggy when he saw the farmers loading corn along the side of the road. Not having his camera with him, he arranged to come back next day to take the left picture. He submitted it in a New York Herald contest and won a $5 prize under the title of "Harvest Time". River Road is just left of the Cart. |
