EXAM
Are final examinations required?
There are no mid-term or final examinations in the Teaneck Public Schools. With the work of children judged from day to day, preparation for final examinations involves a needless waste of time and energy. For nervous children particularly, such examinations contribute nothing but worry and irritability; and knowledge gained by cramming seldom is retained.
With intermittent tests and reviews, the teachers are enabled to check the progress of their students; and with the use of standardized tests, they are enabled to evaluate student achievements in comparison with standards attained in other schools.
